As a Christian Massage Therapist I take the words of Jesus very seriously! Jesus encourages us in Matthew 11:29 “”Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.” As a mother, I need rest! But I don’t always find it easy to get away to quietude and focus on God’s word, in order to learn from Him. Through massage, I can help a woman give her body much-needed rest, but only God can give you rest for your soul. I encourage you to use your massage time to meditate on God’s word. I have included a list of New Testament verses that encourage me as a mother. All Scripture is taken from a New American Standard Bible.
Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest.
Mark 3:25 If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
1 Corinthians 13:3 If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
Galatians 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
